CITY CONFIDENT IN ITS POSITION AS SUPREME COURT AGREES TO LISTEN TO RICCI CASE

(1/9/2009) NEW HAVEN- The United States Supreme Court issued cert today in the case of Ricci v. DeStefano, a lawsuit filed in 2004 by New Haven firefighters claiming employment discrimination. While the City is not surprised that the Supreme Court decided to grant cert in this case, it remains confident that the 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals correctly decided the issue. The City looks forward to presenting its argument to the Justices.
